noctisity7小時前#117210622If the origin is undrafted then you will have to report the entry and mention which character you want to unlink. A MOD or VIB will be able to help you then.
The origin entry is a draft, I just can’t find the delete button

Hello,

I wanted to add a tapestry from Cyc Soft/Black Cyc's 20th-anniversary series: web.archive.org.... My question is, from what you can gather from this page, does this count as an "Event"? Or maybe I should put it as a "classification" or just mention it in "additional info"?

noctisity11天前#116574075Hi! If you would like to fix multiple items with similar issues, you can alert one item and then link the others in the same alert explaining the edits you want made.
Regarding your second question, MFC uses whatever series name the manufacturer sells the item under, so yes, even if the character only appears in one specific season, if that season's name is not used on the product, you would stick with whatever the manufacturer chose to go with.
For media, the standalone Numbering field should be used, like this one ITEM #1031129 you linked.
Thank you for the clarification! I will edit the entries I changed/made to be the correct format! Appreciate it!! nammy9天前#116718531The listings were probably edited before Crystal came out.
We thought that, like... whatever villain would always go with the related series, started to change stuff, then got told it was wrong, and I doubt most got changed back. I try to do these when I come across Draft, but hate bothering to change... idk Sailormoon was neglected, got focus, then I think everyone got burned out, and now it's neglected again...
I want to clean Sailormoon, but it's hard without privileges.
Yeah, that 100% makes sense with Crystal. Same here! Like you said, without privileges it's difficult. You've put SO much work into the Sailor Moon section of the database too, I've seen your name everywhere!

It's too bad there isn't a special permission level for certain users to have the privilege to edit items ONLY from certain series (without being a VIB). Like users who have contributed a lot to a particular series and demonstrated their knowledge/competency/whatever.

EDIT:
Re: Numbering on video media volumes. I'm still going through and editing the ones I can as suggested; however, I want to point out the official guidelines.

Here is the direct quote from the guidelines:
GuidelinesUse the "Numbering" field (or the "#ID" field next to classifications) to count volumes. This clearly indicates either OR is acceptable. I think this needs to be officially changed to one OR the other and not allow both. Otherwise, the way in which entries are added or edited will differ. It's both confusing and causes inconsistencies within the database.

suta_pura13天前#116511014Also, I do want clarification on a couple points. It is my understanding that for Sailor Moon, even if the character/item only appeared in one season of the series, let’s say R for example, and it is NOT specified on the merchandise as being from R it must go under Sailor Moon. I found a couple old threads about this in the forums here but it was never resolved in them. Others suggested listing both as origins. What’s the preferred way?

suta_pura13天前#116511014View spoilerHide spoilerOkay so I’ve made a private list of over 100 Sailor Moon items that need to edited/updated. I’m sure there are way more, but I stopped adding stuff to the list after I hit 150 items. I do not want to flood the alerts queue with a zillion of these. Obviously I edit the drafts as I can, but I don’t know the best way to go about alerting these.

Second point, numbering for volumes of books and other media. I’ve read the guidelines and it’s not clear what is preferred. I hate clutter so I will use the numbering field next to the classification. For example, here’s one that I updated: ITEM #1031131 And here’s a different entry: ITEM #1031129 What is the standard?
Thank you, thank you!

Bebecheesemaster13天前#116520728If a character appears as an extremely small (not very noticeable unless you pay close attention) plush on a figure, should the character be added? I’m conflicted on whether or not to alert a figure so the character can be added.Bebecheesemaster13天前#116520739Also, if I wanted to send out an alert to change the character linked to a figure, but the character isn’t in the database, should I make the character entry first or let someone else make it? Hello! If a character appears on the item, no matter how small the size, it should be indicated on the entry.

If you would like to add a new character to the database, I'd recommend alerting the relevant item where you'd like the changes made and providing a link to a page showing the character's information (such as a Wikipedia/Fandom bio page). That way whoever adds the new character can fill in information for that character.
