About

This club is a place for collectors to enjoy, discuss, and share their love for acrylic stands!

Our primary club goals:

  • Discuss news, trends, releases, and the general hobby of collecting Acrylic Stands

lowroller1天前#121956423Hey there! Where have you been looking so far?
I searched for that on Goods Republic (sister site of: shop/82) and found some results, most of them are acrylic plates. Maybe you could try looking there?
I also checked Mandarake (shop/21) but didn't really find much.
Any other club members have other stores in mind? I did a quick search on Suruga-ya but didn't see much, but I'm not that familiar with that site so maybe I'm looking in the right place, idk.

sarious4天前#121849582Just don't blow it too hard. It isn't a super great duster, so you have to hand dust when you see a spot with a lot of dust. It's just nice when you have a huge goods collection that would be horrible to hand dust regularly.Maybe I'll give it a try then, I have a few of those compressed air dusters so maybe next time I'm going to take photos I'll try them out.

lowroller4天前#121849301That's a good point. I sort of figured you could just literally wash them, but I wasn't sure lol. I suppose as long as they aren't cracked in anyway, there's no harm to doing that. I think specifically calling out cold water is a good point, I'd imagine hot enough water could potentially warp them.
I've thought of canned air before, I should give that a try. When I take pictures of my figures, I actually use my lens cleaner to blow dust off the hard to reach spots and use a make-up brush for the rest. But yeah for the acrylics this actually seemed to make it worse, not better. Do you ever find that the canned air is too much pressure for some of the more fragile parts of figures?

Loria5天前#121814257View spoilerHide spoilerI find washing the acrylic stands the best way to clean them. Tried using a wet (not damp, it's not good enough) to clean the stands but they usually still had some dust here and there. Yet washing them (i.e. putting them into cold water and rub the stands) could make them fresh and clean without any other things to worry about. Plus they're acrylic, not paper; so it's fine to wash them in water. That's a good point. I sort of figured you could just literally wash them, but I wasn't sure lol. lowroller5天前#121813121How do you all keep your acrylic stands clean? Do you keep them in a display case?
I keep most of mine out, scattered around the place, and they're such dust magnets. I use make-up brushes to keep my figures clean, but it seems like the dust sticks to the acrylic more (or maybe it's just more noticeable). Does anyone have any good tips for cleaning them? Maybe just a damp cloth would do the job.
