Jenthehen (9個月前) #18285100I doubt that would work, b/c the person wouldn't be hotlinking, right? You have to upload photos to ebay sales, so I bet they downloaded the photos and uploaded them to ebay themselves.
Well it wouldn't work because we can't edit pics, but OP said they actually are hotlinking.

Edit: while you have to upload pics on eBay for a sale item, you can also link to other pics in the item description. That's what they apparently did, the evil ruffians.

WanderingWastrel (9個月前) #182767581. Save your version of the pictures (if you don't already have copies).
    2. Open the picture in a 'paint' program (or any program that lets you add text over a picture) and put in glowing big letters something like 'some people try to steal other people's pictures in order to trick eBay buyers'.
    3. Repeat for all pictures being used, with slightly different wording on each one. Be creative, but don't use the person's ebay ID name.
    4. Replace original pictures with new text-added versions, making sure to keep the filename the same.
    5. Sit back and enjoy.
    6. After the sale is over, replace pictures here with non-text versions again.

Report them to E-Bay as it's copyright violation, when you upload pics to MFC they are copyright protected on this site so any use outside of MFC is violating copyright. Plus as mentioned they're also violating E-Bay's picture policy which states the pictures should be taken by you.

Yes, I thought about doing something similar ... that would be hilarious. However, the hosting service here does not allow you to edit pictures. If I edit and upload them again they would get a new identifier and have a new upload location unfortunately. I would have had some fun with this surely :D:D

if they won't remove by your request, report them to ebay support. It is ebay Images and text policy violation.

I would report it to ebay and let them know that you do not allow use of your photos without permission and that the pictures were not taken by the seller.
