How does a PO transfer work

It can become difficult, if you're not a business. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. You better just hope that the package arrives in one piece. Get shipping insurance & signature requests is a must. I hate doing it, but I didn't have a choice this past year & a half. Be as sincere as you can possibly be with your buyer, & keep your eyes pinned on the shipping, until it's in their hands~

Wait.. what? I took over someone's PO on Native and just put in my payment + shipping info for the figure I wanted after they gave me their login credentials.. was I not supposed to do that? Will Native ban me for it? I already have a Native account, I just didn't get the PO I wanted on time, I don't wanna be banned for that :/
I don't have a lot of words reading this. There's a lot to unpack here. Putting under a spoiler because it's long and not related to OP's post, but this is on the list of things that should be educated.

The #1 rule is never share passwords. That's a rather massive red flag. Every JP website has limits to how many addresses can be on an account. Like, you and say... your brother can't have two separate accounts if you live under the same roof. You can only have one. It's considered a violation of their "Limited to a purchase of 3 units per person." rule.
Direct from Native's Terms of Service:
■ Provision 2: Account Registration
1. User Qualification
Customers who have agreed to these terms of service and registered for an account are considered users as soon as the account registration process is complete. The user registration process must be completed by the individual for whom the account is registered. Registration by proxy is strictly prohibited. In the event that your user privileges have been revoked in the past, or if this company otherwise deems the applicant inappropriate, your registration may be refused.
3. Password Management
(1) Passwords are for use by the account holder only, and are not to be conveyed or shared with a third party.
(2) It is the user's responsibility to manage their password, and to ensure that their password is unknown to others by changing it periodically and taking other necessary precautions.
(3) By inputting their password for the use of our services, a user is expressing their will and consent. All charges and other transactions incurred are the user's responsibility.
■ Provision 5: Loss of User Privileges and Liability
Should a user commit any of the actions described below, we may deem it appropriate to revoke their user privileges, at which point all agreements will be void, and all business dealings and correspondences will be suspended thenceforth.
2. If the user is found to have committed any of the actions listed in "Section 7 (Prohibited Actions)."
■ Provision 7: Prohibited Actions
While using our services, members are expressly prohibited from the following actions.
1. Disregarding any laws or regulations, these terms of service, warnings regarding using this service, or warnings regarding making a purchase via our service.
5. Providing false information.
8. Lending, transferring, or sharing a password with a third party.
9. Fraudulently registering an email address or password and using this service.
10. Fraudulently registering a credit card or other form of electronic payment and using this service.
11. Any other act deemed inappropriate by this company.
The following is "addresses on multiple accounts" aside as that section of my post was geared more towards AmiAmi and Mandarake where I know for SURE they have banned people for that, and instead purely regarding sharing account info for the purpose of purchases: I really don't want to sound mean, but it's basic internet safety 101 and I'm kind of flabbergasted that in the year 2022/2023 this slipped by. Good intentions or not it's very unsafe and ALWAYS against the rules to share account info. I really implore you to be as safe as possible online.
I don't work for Native, I don't know if they have an automatic system to catch things like these or if it's just manual. But it IS against the rules and grounds for termination. If it's caught it's game over. Once you're banned from a JP site you're banned for life. The only way around it to use a friend or family members information, credit card, PayPal, address, email address, phone number and get an IP address scrambler/VPN because they ban EVERYTHING.

I bought a Native PO from someone and they basically just kept me informed until the release date was announced and they got charged. What was best for us was to have her ship it to herself and then ship from her to me (I paid the cost of the figure to her, then to me). We did it via PayPal invoice. I also bought from someones Zenmarket warehouse once and they basically sent me an invoice for the statue. Once I paid that they changed the shipping address to mine and sent me the shipping invoice. Sent me screenshots all along the way to prove they were doing it etc.
Honestly though? Just don't bother. She's high cost low demand. AmiAmi preorders reopen FREQUENTLY. Especially considering her release date is June and she will absolutely get delayed at least once. Cancellations happen all the time. On top of that, Amazon JP ALWAYS has stock about a week after it officially releases so you can get her there with better shipping. And Goodsmile Global ALWAYS has additional stock once the figure actually releases so you can grab one with 2k flat rate shipping.
The risk of buying a preorder for something so easily accessible is not worth it. ESPECIALLY AmiAmi. AmiAmi has a very strict address limit policy. Enough so that there's stories you can find of people who moved homes, entered their new address and subsequently got banned because the address (rental) was associated with another account. AmiAmi will find duplicate addresses and it'll ban both accounts with said address. That's why my Native PO takeover went to her first so neither of us risked our accounts.

when I transferred the pre order, it went like this:
1. changed the address to the intended recipient's address (ONLY after looking at their profile and verifying that they had done this before and confirming that they are credible)
2. sent proof of the change
3. got charged for the order
4. sent paypal invoice, received payment
5. buyer received their figure
I'm not so sure as to how I would have gone about it had I not verified the recipient's credibility. personally I only even did that first because I knew I'd forget about it.

From what I've read in the comments, there's basically always a chance you can get scammed, unless the other person is shipping it to their home first and
then
to you. The good news is, most users are honest and PayPal can back you up in the event they aren't.

What I did when I transferred my pre-orders was to keep it until release then ask the grand total from user once payment was there I changed the shipping info etc.
Or had it shipped to me first and ask the total plus shipping from me to user.
. Depended on how strict the site I ordered from was

I gave away PO before.
I temporary modified my account's login, removed all my payment info and let the buyer deal with the necessary change.
I kept the access open until the buyer informs me the item arrived, then I change back my login credential.

Very well said! I agree with all of this for giving away POs and this figures current state.
Oh and I see her open on AmiAmi too.
