Many people do monetary exchanges with trades, or find a middleman. They exchange money for the value of the figures being traded, essentially "buying" a figure, and then refund when both parties receive their end.
The middleman would be kinda difficult on somewhere like MFC, as it's difficult to find one party that both ends trust. Usually someone who's super active and has good ratings/previous reputation on and off of MFC.

Honestly, if I got scammed I wouldn’t worry too much. The person I traded with is quite trusted, I have their TikTok, Instagram, MFC and more, which basically insures that I could call them out if something were to happen —- even if I got scammed I wouldn’t be bummed out about it, either, since packing was probably the best part of everything.
