Should these figures be added?Should these figures be added?Ask MFC

There are some Hatsune Miku blind box figures being made by POP MART, but since it is a Chinese company, is it not allowed despite Hatsune Miku being a Japanese character? Either way, if they can be added, is someone able to?

Some links for the figures:
Group Image - pbs.twimg.com/m...
Single Image Thread - twitter.com/mik...
POP MART's Official Aliexpress - popmart.aliexpr...

Not sure if that last link is allowed, but I put it there because (for me at least) it was hard to find anything about POP MART.

plasticizer very mild
POP MART specializes in vinyl blind boxes. They've done licensed releases such as Minions, Harry Potter and another Chinese film I can't remember.

The toys seem to be properly licensed, with both Crypton Future Media, LLC and piapro.net text on the bottom right-hand corner, and they have a track record of properly licensing IPs, so I'm pretty sure these things are legit.

D_A_R2個月前#80550515What about those characters ITEM #915372 & ITEM #970343 ? They're not from a Japanese series, just original characters based on illustrations. - Is it because the Illustrator is from Japan? I'm just trying to understand the rules, but with items like that it's getting really confusing. It wasn't too long ago, probably about a week or so, when an Emontoys entry was deleted. People we're discussing whether or not it should be in the database, because of its origin, even if Emontoys is located in Japan.

Personal view, whether chinese company or not, myethos figures are pretty similar in style and anime look to those japanese figures we own. As time evolved, rules have been loosen for even GSC as a japan company to endorse Myethos. I don't know why the admin still very insistent on not to add myethos figures into database , just because the company is chinese?

idk for those 2 to argue, maybe the "origin" is Japanese for the artist being OC, a mod could better answer those 2.

Emontoys I think still has an open Alert for an entry where mods argue on and off if it should be allowed as it's a subsdiary/branch of ACToys or something which is Chinese and different brands but it's all the same... and I don't even understand all of that one. I just know it tends to get deleted because true base in China supposedly. This is why whenever I alert these things it's clearly American based stuff. For sure what OP posted is allowed

GSC is the distributor there and doesn't matter as the rules only look at origin + manufacturer. Myethos is Chinese and the origin is Chinese for those. The Myethos ones still there are of Japanese series.

Those Mikus would be allowed as long as they're licensed, which the image shows a copyright tag, so I'd assume they are. From the rules:

Japanese origin AND Japanese manufacturer = OK
Japanese origin AND Non Japanese manufacturer = OK
Non Japanese origin AND Japanese manufacturer = OK
Non Japanese origin AND Non Japanese manufacturer = NO

but I agree with Demigod_Dan

One day MFC will overload and crash from all the Miku figures being added to it :P can we jokingly agree it's not allowed based on that?! Lol

You should be fine if the company is selling licensed products. I know for the case of Miku and other Cryptonloids when it comes to Chinese merchandise, a product is official if it's affiliated with Piapro or Crypton Future Media.

The buying guide I'll link below mentions that the products should come with authenticity stickers to prove that they're officially licensed. Here are the examples shown under spoiler. View spoilerHide spoilerhttp://u.cubeupload.com/AMS2000/d593eb8f38b992fd5897.png

Technically I don't understand why they would get deleted because isn't Miku of Japanese origin? We allow figures with non Japanese manufacturers as long as the source material is from Japan. I mean that's why we have some Funko Pops on here right?
