  • Hatchuu8年前#1067284She does have an account, but it's not really active and her collection is more of the doll/my little pony collection variety. She does get the occasional prize figure though! Hah, I have a tendency to buy bargain nendoroids even if I don't know them... my Arawn (ITEM #10684)(which I ended up loving the show he's from), Francesca Lucchini (ITEM #5432) and Takane Manaka (ITEM #27617) nendoroids were all impulse buys that I got discounted... luckily I can resist a bit better now! I'm still a bit bitter on passing up Gift's Saber (ITEM #3236) back when she was $50. Now she's the last Gift Saber I need and the hardest to find, but I guess that's just what I get > _ <;;

    Aw, that's too bad >.<
What kind of dolls does she collect?
Nah, it's okay! We all impulse buy at times. I mean, with most of my figures now I didn't really impulsively buy any of them. I'm trying to prevent that from happening. I do have a record of impulsively buying most of my other stuff though- like manga, comics, plushies, etc. I can't help myself D:
It's good that you are preventing that from happening to yourself, but atleast one of your discount figures made you discover an anime you like! That's always good :D

I made that very same mistake as well >.<' I found the Alice POP wonderland figure (ITEM #286)- which is now IMPOSSIBLE to find for a good price- for only $50 as well at this anime shop downtown from where I live. Instead I bought my Kuma-san figure (ITEM #1182) which is one of the easiest figures to find for an amazing price nowadays. When I look back at myself 2 years before, I just cry on the inside. Haha, we all make those mistakes I guess xD
I wish you luck finding that very last Saber though!

CinnamonSwirls8年前#1067118Yeah, that seems pretty reasonable. If I may ask, do you collect anything else as a hobby?
I agree with you! I also don't have much space in my room and I don't even know how I'll be able to fit every single figure I've ordered into one glass display case xD
I don't have many figures though-but still- I know what you mean!

Hehe, nope I don't collect as a hobby except for figures. Oh, I have around 1000 mangas if that can be called a collection - mangas are cheap where I live and most of them are just less than 2 dollars, hehe).

Btw, we're really in the same boat! I have a glass bookshelf (dunno if it's really called that way), and my figures are literally staying around the shelf because there's no more space in or on the shelf.... we should think of setting some limits on our monthly purchases! ;)

Eagleam I do what I can!
I haven't put a cap on my collection. If I reach a point where I decide to stop then I'll stop. Until then though I've 'mostly' been focusing what me collection is consisting of recently. Panty and Stocking figures are pretty much an instant sell for me and from what we've seen so far I expect this will keep up. Catgirls/Nekomimi is also where more of my collection is headed recently. There are some items that come along that I just really like how they look and work there way in though.

House ownership has also slimmed down the finances available to go with every figure I may desire so just need to be more selective on the purchases now.

My collection is rather small right now so I haven't been thinking about there being a limit to how much I'd buy or anything. I do try to only buy figures I REALLY want though, since right now I don't have a lot of space. But I'm going to be moving out soon so hopefully I'll have more space for everything I collect! :D

I guess I will keep collecting until I run out of space haha, but even then i will probably find a way to make room for them somewhere.

I started collecting... a little over a month ago?? Well my friend I had visited Japan and bought until our luggage was full (which didn't take very long for me... so i had to carry 5 of them on hand through 3 connecting flights, not fun T-T). Hopefully I will be able to order some more soon now that my collection has kicked off ^-^

I dont really have a limit, if I like a figure I will buy it. To me its more of a matter of if I think that the figure is worth the money their asking for it and if I like the character.

I haven't started collecting seriously since only a while ago but have been looking at figures since the dawn of time. They are quite an expensive hobby.. but a very rewarding one.

Since I want everything, I limit myself to buying new figures only. My wish list items are basically a wish list for re-releases, so no second hand. I also try to hold off preordering as long as I can to get rid of impulse buys. Over time, reasons for not wanting to preorder slowly creep up, and all of a sudden, I don't want them anymore :(

This actually works well for me, and I managed to save quite a bit. With all the great releases at wonderfes 2012 and my saved loonies, I can actually look forward to purchasing some no worries at all! :D

CinnamonSwirls8年前#1067110Really? Does she have an account on here? I would actually be interested to see her collection! It sounds big xD Figures are definetly hard to NOT impulsively buy because there are just soo many. My problem is trying to buy everything at once. I don't like to wait, so I try to spend all my money inorder to get all the one's in my wish list. Unfortunetly reality kicks in and it's almost impossible for me to do that x0
Your friend does sound very nice :D My friends don't like collecting so it's nice that you have someone you know that does!

That's pretty awesome! You are very lucky to find her for that good of a price!

Its like the saying for Pokemon, "Gotta Catch Them All."

Nope, I buy figures I want and not purely to have a bigger collection. So no matter how many figures I own, as long as I want the new ones that come out I keep pre-ordering (or hunting for older figures in case a saw another anime I liked). When I don't have enough room, I buy a new Detolf, bookshelf or think of another way to save room (like throwing unimportant stuff like schoolbooks on the ground in some corner).
