Does paint scratch/wear bother you so much?

Aurora08Aurora087個月前Ask MFC
I bought this specific item from a seller ( Leviathan Figure)
Let's not say his name coz it might offend him
But he lied to me.
What I hate the most is that he didn't talk about the figure having paint scratch on the figure
It bothers me, I always have perfect figure no any blemishes or something.
I sold some figures perfectly and I told the buyers if there's some micro-scratch or anything
I know not everyone is the same
But having damaged figure really bothers me.
Do you feel the same?
What do you do in this situation?
Should I return it and buy a new one instead?
Please help me :(

okami34 (7個月前) #22629086What kind of photos did the seller show you? :/ Stock photos? Old pictures of the figure he was selling? If one photo looks a tad suspicious or if you feel that the photos aren't enough, sellers are usually happy to take more upon request. :)
If the seller didn't "note" the damage he could have:
- A: Not have taken the figure out of her box for a long time (That could be reason as to why he forgot)
- B: Feared that it would discourage you from buying, he purposely left it out
- Or C: Believed that these paint blemishes weren't "significant" enough to him for him to note

Aurora08 (7個月前) #22616270IKR? He just told me he didn't saw it that he missed it. I'm like, in that noticeable part? very impossible. OMG! definitely lying right? Then I'm going to pay for the return shipping! Should I ask him to pay for it?

If they are willing to refund it I wouldn't press your luck with asking for return shipping to be paid, they may back out on it then you'd have a roached figure. =/

Darkdman00 (7個月前) #22615896Then yea, I'd be upset, unless they truly missed it? But it would be hard to believe if it's really noticeable to spot. =S (sorry for your luck)
return would be a must for something like that. (just noticed the pics too... =P)

Aurora08 (7個月前) #22606055the seller didn't noted the damage and I tried to ask for photos but the part that's damaged is not shown, base on the pictures it's major or not?

Darkdman00 (7個月前) #22604007Yeah I'd be upset if the seller didn't point it out, but unless they showed the damage and it wasn't too major, I'd be ok with it if the price was right =3the seller didn't noted the damage and I tried to ask for photos but the part that's damaged is not shown, base on the pictures it's major or not?

tharglet (7個月前) #22595601That level of damage - yes I'd expect the seller to have noted it. Especially for post-manufacture damage, I'd expect it to be at least shown in the pics, and preferably referred to in the description.
If I were to sell something in my collection, I'd err on the side of caution and note any noticeable defect. If it was a prize figure I wouldn't list all the paint defects or anything like that, as that's kinda to be expected, but I would take clear photos so people can make up their own mind.
For me, it'd depend on the price I paid, and how abundantly available the figure is. If I paid an "undamaged" figure price, and the damage won't show too much or it's a figure that's hard to get a hold of, I may ask for a partial refund, instead of return+refund.

okami34 (7個月前) #22592458Truth be told, no figure is perfect, but some have more laws than others.
( I am guessing that you already resolved your issue, but I hope that my advice will be helpful to you in the future.)
I would try to return the figure, if you can. If you can't return it, I would suggest that you go to an art store and buy some paint to at least fix the paint blemishes.
Personally, I always ask for pictures and ask questions regarding the quality up front before I buy a figure or the like. The seller should have told you about the quality of the figure right off the bat. However, I is partially your fault for getting into the situation if you didn't inquire about the figure to the seller before the purchase.
