April/ May Loot + Miku Expo!April/ May Loot + Miku Expo!Loot

Okay wow has it been a while since I've posted anything. Like since April. So I'll go ahead and do my excuses now and then make up for it with my loot pictures.

So my April loot ended up coming in later than I was hoping (not too bad, May 2nd was when it arrived I think), but that was my finals week. All I really had time to do at that point was open things up and take a few pictures. Finals week ends on the 6th, cool I'm done with school. Internship starts the following Monday, less cool. Basically I've been preoccupied with this internship for the past while which is annoying, but it's paid so I can afford more figures now. (And you know it's a great opportunity and all that jazz parents tell you).

Also my April and May orders weren't that big so it kind of works out better to just combine them this time around. All righty, let's dive in!

*April*

My loot for April probably had the biggest variety of any order I've had. No spoilers, but it wasn't just figures this time around.

~GSC Online Shop~

This one was really exciting to open up.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556961.jpeg

A weirder shape that I was expecting. Definitely thought I'd be getting something a bit more 'box' shaped (you know, cube-like). It's just a shipping box though, so who really cares?

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556962.jpeg

Okay so here are the goods: ITEM #331003, ITEM #331676, ITEM #331683, ITEM #331685, ITEM #331686, and ITEM #330991. I'm a TouRabu fan so of course I love these. The GSC exclusive bases (even though the whole set was GSC exclusive) with the TouDan sigils was super great. Didn't even bother using the clear petite bases, but they're nice to have a backup. Honestly I was excited to finally have a figure of Kasen. I really hope that Orange Rouge does a larger figure of him at some point. The little foldable tatami room (can't remember what was actually called) was also a really cute bonus!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556963.jpeg

And here's their final display layout. Right know they're on my KanMusu/ TouDan shelf, but things are starting to get a bit crowded. I'll probably have to reorganize things with all of the Touken Ranbu figurines on the way.

~Monthly AmiAmi Order~

I really can't remember why this order ended up taking so long to ship. Either something was delayed and wasn't announced until the last minute or something else in the group wasn't supposed to be released until really late April.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556958.jpeg

The usual sized shipping box for me since my orders are pretty predictable if you've read any of my other loot posts. This order did have a lot more variety, but apparently not enough of a variety in size to get a change in box. (Although in hindsight that was probably a good thing.)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556960.jpeg

This order's a bit weird since I didn't actually end up keeping ITEM #287755. He was really cute when I got him in the mail, but I ended up needing some money for my May order. I was able to send him off to a good home though, so I don't feel as bad. Moving past Link, I ended up grabbing a splatoon case for my Wii U gamepad. I love the black console for the greater memory space, but that thing gets covered in finger prints too quickly. It's really squishy and comfortable! The only downside is that the buttons end up being a bit too flush with the case. So I usually end up taking it off when I'm playing something more intense, like Splatoon. (Even though that kind of defeats the purpose).

On the right, I picked up a new obitsu body for one of my Pullip dolls. Her old body had some stains from when I originally bought her, and her hands would fall out a lot. I had to sand down the neck peg quite a bit to get the head to fit on the body, but she definitely looks a lot better now! I just really didn't expect this thing to have a soft bust so the clothes lay a bit weird... I've been wanting to try out Azone clothes on my Pullip dolls for a while so ITEM #353198 was for one of my other dolls. The dress fits great and my doll definitely looks a lot more fashionable. Finally, I picked up a little charm of Mikazuki's insignia for my tablet case. It's kind of a lowkey way to show my allegiance to my husbando. :)

*May*
Moving on to the next month. I really didn't get too much here from AmiAmi, but I got some other pretty cool things to supplement!

~Mandarake~

Okay so it had been a while since I'd ordered from Mandarake (probably over a year), and things definitely went a lot smoother from that previous experience. Although, now I've got a taste for Mandarake again so things could be getting dangerous as these paychecks start to come in. I digress, box time!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556965.jpeg

This was too big to fit on my dresser, which was kind of terrifying. I wasn't expecting it to be this big since I only ordered one thing. But I guess the item pictures were a bit deceiving. Didn't stop me from being excited to open it though!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556966.jpeg

Except you know, this. THIS MASSIVE GASH IN THE SIDE OF THE BOX. I was able to shove my hand through here and into the box, although that might just say that I have tiny hands. I don't blame Mandarake since they did a good job packing things, so I guess USPS is taking the bullet here. Although I really wasn't worried about this item getting damaged.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556967.jpeg

Okay so this was kind of a dream come true for me. I've been obsessed with Miku and the other Vocaloids since I was in middle school (for perspective, I'm going to be a senior in college this fall) and have always wanted to cosplay Miku. I looked at costumes for years and never just took the chance to buy one, but I figured with my internship coming up and Miku Expo at the end of the month I really just wanted to go for it! So here is the officially licensed Miku costume from TranTrip. It was pretty expensive (like for real go look this thing up on Mandarake), but the quality is insane. I know I could never sew something like this so spending the cash to have a good Miku cosplay was definitely worth it for me. Despite the shipping box damage, the costume was totally fine thanks to the bag. I think if I had ordered any figures I would have had a panic attack when I saw that damage. But I did end up wearing the costume to Miku Expo in Chicago and holy cow I had a blast! I'll mention that a bit more in this next section...

~Miku Expo Chicago~

All right so I'll say right now that I didn't get any gret pictures of the actual event (was jamming a bit too hard), but it really was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone that has the chance, to definitely go to one of these shows in the future. I went with my sister and some of her friends(I was the only one who knew anything about Vocaloid so the car ride was a cram session), and they all had a blast! So even if you're not a fan, definitely check out a Vocaloid concert. It's just such a great energy and the holograms, and music is really cool to see in person.

But onto that cosplay costume and some stuff surrounding that. So when I originally bought the Miku Expo tickets, I didn't even know about this internship thing, so when I got the offer for it I immediately thought "Well shoot". Especially since I live 6 hours away from Chicago. Luckily my internship is part time with a schedule that alternates days. So on the day of the concert I was scheduled for 8am until noon, which would give us just enough time to drive out and make it to the concert before it starts. But for anyone who was at the Chicago concert, you know that it was on a Wednesday night. And I had to work the next day, not until 1pm, but we still had a 6 hour drive home. My sister and her friends are top tier though so we were able to handle it and they let me sleep on the way home, which was great since we didn't get back until about 4am. And they weren't put off by my multiple costume changes in the car. But the in final result of the costume is all you really care about, right?

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1557026.jpeg

The picture quality isn't the best, but this is really the only one I got of myself. My sister figured that we should get a picture of us together to give to our mom when we got home (she scrapbooks, so we really felt obligated). The costume was really comfortable to wear! I ended up using my own thigh high socks, shoes, and wig to finish up the costume, since the package didn't have a wig and the boot covers didn't fit me. This worked just as well, although I wouldn't recommend painting your eyebrows teal in a moving car. Never again. I got a lot of requests for pictures which was a fun suprise. It was so much fun meeting so many Vocaloid fans! Especially a lot of the younger kids who were so excited to see Miku in concert! Totally let me know if you saw me at the concert. :)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556969.jpeg

Sorry about the jank picture quality.. Okay so for the actual loot, I definitely felt the need to pick up a T-shirt. I really loved the design on the black shirt, but I never really wear black shirts that often. This one with the main concert image was definitely my favorite though. The back has all of the NA tour dates listed out, and the fabric is really comfy. Only bummer is that they didn't sell women's sizes so the shirt is a bit baggy, but that's probably what makes it so comfortable.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556968.jpeg

And then this backpack was kind of an impulse buy. I love that it has all of the little icons for each tour stop. It's definitely high quality; the fabric is a really sturdy backpack fabric and the straps have some nice padding. There are a lot of nice inner pockets as well!

~Monthly AmiAmi Order~

Because ITEM #322192 was delayed at the very last minute, this order didn't end up shipping until June. But we're still counting it here because it was for May.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556970.jpeg

Here's the standard box picture. If you've watched the background over my blogs you can see that things have slowly started moving around. And that Miku Expo glowstick poking out in the back.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556971.jpeg

Small order with just ITEM #143937 and ITEM #331510. They're both really great Nendoroids, although Isabelle is a bit fragile. The little musical notes and her ears don't really like to stay in place. Ichigo is super pretty in person, and his hair was a lot more blue than I was expecting. His hair seems to have a few scratches on the back, but I'll never be displaying the back of his head so it's whatever.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2016/06/08/1556972.jpeg

And the freedom picture. Isabelle is enjoying her stay on my Nintendo/ video games shelf and Ichigo has been moved to join the other TouDan. (Can I have an Ichigo scale to join those some time in the future? Orange Rouge, please?)

So as usual, this wraps up April and May. Definitely a lot more eventful than I was expecting! And more expensive... Paychecks are making things less painful. Although I did just impulse buy a few more nendoroids outside of my preorders for this month. Hopefully I won't get any delays for June because my July order is looking pretty painful from Snow Miku, Kashuu being delayed, and my other preorders. @_@

Until next time, have a great rest of your week!

tiffanyuchiha4年前#11235213Very nice loot! I regret not getting the touken ranbu gsc 1st squad set. ;-;
Also i hope you don't mind me ask, where did you buy this? It's a really nice riser

Thanks! Hopefully squad 1 will get a rerelease closer to the anime starting, and maybe another squad being made.

I think this is the riser I bought www.amazon.com/...

One of the legs on the back of mine is a little loose, so make sure you tighten it. Going too tight might cause it to crack though.

Acid084年前#11225670oof, yeah the midwest doesn't necessarily seem like a hot bed for the animu :P. It's cool to hear that you at least have some stuff going on out there! And I know the exact kind of kids you're talking about...the kind who wear Naruto headbands or button up DBZ shirts to school, NOT THAT I'D KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DOING THAT KIND OF THING. Is there a cherry blossom festival where you live? Those see to be pretty universal. Most of the big events are either up near Chicago or down south in Texas, so yeah a bit far. Yeah my high school offered Japanese when I was there so we had a very vocal weeb population. They were all friendly, but yeah just a bit too vocal... Lol I remember all of my obnoxious animu shirts back in my weeb days. And those times I wore a Naruto headband as a belt, yikes. I live pretty close to my state's botanical gardens, not too sure if they have a cherry blossom festival (though they've got the trees for it), but around Labor Day they always have a huge Japanese festival. Lots of fun to go to since it's things like food, dancing, and other parts of the culture aside from just anime. Unfortunately they've added a cosplay contest in recent years so the local anime community is starting to take it over a bit too much. ^^'

PinkieVoltage4年前#11182147Agh I'm so jealous. The anime scene around here is basically just high school kids (you know, the weeaboo kind), which is fine but not so much if you're an adult. We don't really have any big conventions around here. Only about three each year and they're smallish and pretty crammed into the spring. I've heard a lot of cool things about Japan Town and Fanime. I'd love to check those out some time if I'm ever around the bay area, which is a bit of a long shot since I'm in the midwest. XD

theturtwig664年前#11215682Same. Kasen is my favorite sword from the game, but with a lack of merchandise, I can't really show it! XD
I could see Kasen getting a nendo, and maybe Izumi. :P
Please make these maybes a reality. I need my artsy purple sword boy!

PinkieVoltage4年前#11178500THIS. I've barely seen any merchandise for Kasen, and I really want something to show my love for my starter sword! Now the dream would be a two pack with him and Izuminokami. But I don't see things going that far unfortunately. :(

Acid084年前#11181458Yeah, the scene here is super lively. There's a really lively Japan Town in SF where festivals and events happen. Fanime happens down in San Jose. The entire Bay Area is a nice place to be if you're an anime fan lol Agh I'm so jealous. IshokuOsero4年前#11180779Ohhh you were the super cute Miku running around at the concert! I wanted to get a picture of you but the entire night was such a blur and my friend group made it hardly on time since we went out to Yusho for ramen first. I was really stressed out the whole way from Yusho to the venue because I was afraid we weren't gunna make it. x: Oh my goodness thanks! But there were oh so many adorable Mikus running around! Ramen would have been so nice before the show. We were running a bit late too. I definitely wish I had been able to get there a bit sooner to wander around and talk with people some more. But hey we made it to the show and it was fantastic! :D
