Christmas Loot 2014Christmas Loot 2014

**WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY**

Hey Guys~
Hope you had a great holiday and more to come! I figured I'd share a little of what I got for Christmas with you because I was pretty excited about all of it.

First here's a picture of my personal Christmas tree :3

The loot:

This first one is the big stuff I got from family, mainly my mother. I also got some clothes, candy and what not but I thought I'd just post about the stuff you'd probably be more interested in. The things that are in the picture are a Wii U, Project Diva Mini Controller, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Bayoneta 2, Mind=0, Kagamine Rin and Len Append, a Kirito blanket, Vita case, Kaito Senbonzakura trading figure ITEM #148927 and Nanana's scale ITEM #214517. I was extremely surprised about the Wii U because I wasn't expecting it at all. I'm so excited to finally play the sequel to Bayonetta! If anyone else has Super Smash Bros, let me know I'd love to play! Here's some close ups:

Project Diva Mini Controller (Rin/Len ver.):
This one was a little hard to find because it was a special edition. Luckily I was able to pick it up in a tiny game store in NY when I went to Miku Expo. Mum told me she'd buy it and give it to me for Christmas. It was killing me knowing I had it for two months and I couldn't touch it though o(TヘTo)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1419809125.jpeg
This is how big it is compared to a normal PlayStation controller.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1419809248.jpeg
It also came with this cute little cleaning cloth!
I tried it out right away and I love it. I was a little nervous because I heard mixed responses. Some people were saying that it is not compatible with a different regions PlayStation, but that is not true. It worked with my US version, simply plug it right in! It's not tiny but not too big. It's just the right size to fit in your lap comfortably. I also heard it was pretty loud but I didn't seem to notice it too much when I was playing. Then again, I don't slap the buttons like some people.

Katio Trading Figure (Senbonzakura ver.):
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1419808780.jpeg
So glad I got him! He's the last trading figure I needed to complete my collection aside from Miku's crying version. But at least now I have everyone!

Ryuugajou Nanana - 1/8 scale (Griffon):
When this was announced I had mixed feelings. Nanana is an interesting character but it was unfortunate that Griffon was the company that picked her up. However, after actually having her, I am not at all dissapointed. In fact, I feel like she is one of my nicer figures. I was really nervous because, even though I have never owned a Griffon figure, I've heard plenty of not so great things about them. But Nanana is gorgeous and I love her.

I absolutely love the gradient of her hair and was really impressed with the quality. Usually when hair is a little more crazy the ends of it don't always come out too nice, for example Shiro ITEM #218050, but Nanana's are nice and smooth. I took some aerial shots so you can see how her hair falls. Her base is large and plain but she fits nicely. I only have two complaints about her. One, I do not like the fact that she does not connect to her base. You simply place her on it and that is it. If that were the case I would have preferred a magnet or something like Sugu ITEM #144382. Second, her hair does not sit on the base as you can see in the last two pictures. You can't notice it when you're looking at her from the front but if you're looking from a different angle from the side it is noticeable. However, aside from these small things I really enjoy having her in my collection!

The second half of my loot is from my friends, most of it being doujin items including ITEM #240824 and ITEM #241814. I got another blanket from one friend, Ciel and Sebastian this time, as well as a cute wooden bento box from my one friends parents!

I absolutely adore the Kaneki and Hinata postcard sized prints. They are gorgeous and I will surely buy something from the artist myself at some point. Armin's is extremely cute as well. The Attack on Titan item is a phone case (ITEM #216118) that has been on my wishlist. My friend snagged it and I am so grateful(//▽//) You can pull the two triggers to open the slot for the camera. If you click the top button it closes it and resets the triggers. The handle on the side opens the camera without resetting the triggers.

I really love everything I got this year and hope everyone can say the same! What did all of you get? Anything good? Please share and post some pictures if you can! (o´▽`o)ノ

Super late reply, sorry. This was actually the first time my mother has ever gotten me anything anime/figure related at all. Unless I buy something and she goes "oh I'll just pay for it for you". I was really surprised that she bought it! At least your mum doesn't care rather than hating everything about it X3

GollyGeeItsBoo (3年前) #2566920If you ever go to a convention that's where you're most likely to find one. I'm not sure what you have in your area, but when I went to Otakon this year there were a bunch of them, I just didn't end up grabbing one from there. But the store I went to in NY had a booth at Otakon which is how I found them later. I sure am, I won't deny that! My mother supports everything I do and I am extremely grateful for her. She is even somewhat interested because she always asks who the characters are when I get new figures. She even asked who is on my blankets. It really is a shame when people have parents that cannot just feel happy for their children and support their decisions. I actually found some in different hobby stores. But I haven't had the chance to buy them on top of my spending. I hope they'd still be available when I have enough. ;;;;;;; My mom couldn't care less about our hobby. She let's me buy whatever I want with my own savings. Though she had never gifted me with anything relating to Japan. :))

Haha absolutely not! I think I saw quite a few users on here post pictures of their quirky trees. Thats amazing that you made yours, do you have pictures? I don't have the talent for sculpting.
Hm, I actually did think of that, but I'm not sure I want it bent more. It is perfectly laid out, just doesn't reach the bottom. I think if I bend it it may not look right. But thanks for the suggestion.

I KNOW I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Please visit the artists shop if you haven't yet, her work is absolutely amazing!

ippikiokamiotaku (3年前) #2562348That is some awesome loot you got for X-mas. I never knew they made a Project Diva joystick/controller.

Thanks! Yeah there is a Miku one as well and this one came out maybe a year ago but I missed it at the time. It's a lot of fun to play with.

Thank you (´∀`*) I didn't have anything that I was able to secure to the top without being worried about it falling. I thought the series was interesting. I wasn't in love with it but I liked it enough to buy the figure. I really want to read the book as well if I can ever find a translation. Maybe if you try that you might like it, or maybe you shouldn't so you don't have to buy the figure d: Something I've noticed while collecting is that I usually like the prototypes way more than the real deal and I'm not quite sure why. But hopefully this means that anything in the future Griffon makes ends up a lot better! Happy Holidays~

moonlight119 (3年前) #2562440I've always wanted that PD controller!! You're very lucky to have a supporting mom.

Haaaa, glad to see I'm not the only one with geeky stuff on their tree.

I made all of mine, though. I've sculpted ornaments of all of the Evangelion Angels, as well as some Madoka ornaments (Kyubey, a Grief Seed, and the mustachioed witch minion) and Ghost in the Shell (Laughing Man, Individual Eleven, and Section 9 insignias.) I have Attack on Titan ones planned but never finished them, unfortunately.

Oh, regarding the hair not touching the base properly on your Griffon figure, you may be able to correct this using hot water to bend it down to the right spot.

These xmas loot posts make me regret not snapping some quick pictures after opening presents this year, but alas, my little camera croaked about a month ago, so no can do.

Neat idea for a Christmas tree! I'm thinking about replacing my tree angel head with an anime character one!

That Nanana looks pretty good in real. Good thing I wasn't a fan of the series, one less thing to own! ;) But glad you like her. In fact, it would be nice if Griffon improved their quality steadily. They often have amazing prototypes and used to make very, very nice GK back in the days. Nanana gives me a little bit of faith in their future release.

Happy New Year!
